Amirhossein Malekian | Backend Software Engineer
Hi, I’m Amirhossein Malekian. I’m a Software Engineer with over 6 years of experience building and maintaining web applications and software systems. My career started across frontend and full-stack development, but my professional focus has increasingly shifted toward backend engineering, with Go (Golang) now at the center of my work.
I enjoy building reliable, maintainable, and scalable backend systems and solving problems that require careful thinking about architecture, concurrency, performance, and data. My current focus includes Go, REST APIs, microservices, PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, background workers, Docker, and distributed systems.
My experience with frontend technologies such as React, TypeScript, and Next.js, as well as backend development with Node.js, has given me a broader understanding of how different parts of modern applications interact. That experience now helps me approach backend engineering with a systems-oriented mindset rather than focusing on a single layer of an application.

What I Work On
My primary areas of interest and experience include:
- Designing and developing backend services and REST APIs with Go.
- Building microservices and asynchronous processing pipelines.
- Working with PostgreSQL and Redis for data storage, caching, and performance optimization.
- Designing background workers and queue-based systems using RabbitMQ.
- Working with concurrency and parallel processing in Go.
- Containerizing applications and development environments with Docker and Docker Compose.
- Exploring Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability, and distributed system design.
- Writing software that is easy to maintain, test, monitor, and evolve.
One of my main personal projects is StreamForge, a concurrent media processing platform built with Go, Redis, RabbitMQ, and PostgreSQL. The project focuses on asynchronous job processing, worker pools, progress tracking, and building a reliable architecture for handling media-processing workloads.

Earlier in My Career
Before focusing primarily on backend engineering, I worked extensively with frontend and full-stack technologies. I built applications using React, TypeScript, Next.js, Redux, Node.js, and SQL, and worked on products ranging from e-commerce and social platforms to travel-related applications.
This experience gave me a solid understanding of the complete software development lifecycle and helped me develop a stronger appreciation for API design, database architecture, system boundaries, and the relationship between frontend and backend systems.
How I Approach Engineering
I care about more than simply making software work.
I enjoy understanding why a system behaves the way it does, finding bottlenecks, questioning architectural decisions, and improving systems incrementally. I’m particularly interested in topics such as concurrency, memory usage, database performance, distributed systems, service reliability, and clean architecture.
I also enjoy learning by building. Many of the concepts I study become practical experiments or side projects where I can test ideas, measure their impact, and understand their trade-offs in real systems.
I have had the pleasure of working with many talented individuals throughout my career.
Here are some of the recommendations I have received from them.
Beyond Coding
I enjoy sharing what I learn through technical writing and documenting engineering problems and solutions. I’m also interested in software architecture, distributed systems, cloud-native development, and continuously improving my understanding of Go and backend engineering.
My goal is to keep growing as a Backend Software Engineer, work on increasingly complex systems, and build software that is reliable, scalable, and thoughtfully engineered.
Let’s build software that works well, scales gracefully, and stands the test of time.
